Historic Downtown Clarksville TN

For all of Clarksville TN's recent growth it has still managed to maintain its small town charm. You can tell as soon as you get into downtown that Clarksville understands the need for character. Franklin St and Strawberry Alley are lined with a variety of shops and boutiques. There is an almost constant buzz of festivals, events, and live music. Every Saturday from June through October, 8am - 1 pm, you can also find the local Farmer's Market on the Public Square.

The Roxy Regional Theatre is a signature feature of downtown Clarksville TN. Originally opened in 1912 as the Lilian Theater, it was renamed the Roxy in 1945 after a fire led to a complete remodel. Until 1983 the Roxy was Clarksville TN's movie theater. It was then re-opened as the Roxy Regional Theatre and has hosted over 250 mainstage live performances.

The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is Tennessee's second largest general museum. This museum covers an enitre city block in downtown Clarksville TN and hosts exhibits for fine art, science, and history. The Customs House Museum also features an Explorers Gallery for the children that includes a Bubble Room, soon to be the Bubble Cave. A model train exhibit is a regular feature at the museum.

The River District

Clarksville's growing River District runs along side the Cumberland River. It serves to recognize the importance of Clarksville TN's rich river heritage through festivals, events, historic displays, and focused development.

A few completed projects include the McGregor Park Courtesy Dock, the RiverWalk, and the River Center.

On July 11th, 2009 ground was broken on a new marina in Clarksville TN. The new marina will be a mixed use facility with everything from benches and trails for those who enjoy the serenity of people watching & greenways, to access via the Riverwalk to plays, museums, a Civil War Fort, restaurants & shops, festivals and other amenities the downtown, Fairgrounds & River District provides.

Fort Campbell Kentucky

Ft Campbell is a 106,700 acre U.S. Army installation between Hopkinsville KY and Clarksville TN. The base is home to the 101st Airborne Division and was named after BG William Bowen Campbell, the last Whig Governor of Tennessee. Ft Campbell military installation was established in 1942.

Ft Campbell is home to the third largest military population in the Army. The base is also home to eight schools and the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.
